I’ve just finished putting information in for all counties alphabetically up to and including Franklin County, NC. There are not loads of details in there this go around. My plan is to work entirely through once and then go back and flesh things out. Essentially I’m migrating information over from the old layout. To look at an individual county page, look at the sidebar on the right. Click “North Carolina Counties” here you should see the list break out in the menu to the right. Read the rest of this entry »

It lasted until 1945, and involved the majority of the world’s countries and every inhabited continent. Virtually all countries that participated in World War I were involved in World War II. It was the most extensive, expensive and bloodiest armed conflict in the history of the world.

World War I, also known as the First World War, the Great War, the War of the Nations, and the War to End All Wars, was a world conflict occurring from 1914 to 1918. The war was fought by the Allies on one side and the Central Powers on the other. No previous conflict had mobilized so many soldiers or involved so many in the field of battle. By its end, the war was the second-bloodiest conflict of all time (after the Taiping Civil War). Read the rest of this entry »
