Name of Ancestor: Gillespie
Query: I am looking for deceased relatives with the name Gillespie from North Carolina.
We hope that the Gillespies from Rowan County are related to the Gillespies in Tennessee.
Unfortunately, there is a 60 year gap of relations between these two groups. We are

Name of Ancestor: William Gill
Query: William Gill was born about 1720. He married Frances Pathress of Granville,
North Carolina. William and Frances lived in Granville and raised eleven children. Joseph
was the first born about 1742. He married Isabella Owen, age thirteen, who was half his
age at the time. Isabella (Owen) Gill was fourteen years old when she had her first child,
Thomas Gill. Thomas was born in 1769 in Granville County, North Carolina near the Virginia
border. Joseph Gill and Isabella had three more children: Mildred (Amelia), Richardson,
and Robert. Isabella died and Joseph remarried to Mary Glenn. Mary gave birth to five
children: William A., Sally T., Gideon E., and Frances E. I would appreciate any
information on these families.

Name of Ancestor: Hiram Alexander Gilliland
Query: My great-great-grandfather, Hiram Alexander Gilliland was born in 1799/1800 in
North Carolina, per census records. He migrated to Missouri in 1820/21. He had three
marriages and families in Missouri. At least two of the wives were also from Lincoln Co.
NC area. I can not determine who his parents were. One possibility is a James who married
a Cherokee bride, Mary Rainbow. Any leads or information would be appreciated.

Query: William Gowdy died in 1795 and I think he married Jean (Paisley) White at
Guilford Co. NC who was a widow of Capt John White in 1786. I think he had three sons,
James, Robert, and John C. and two daughters, Elizabeth (married Henry Billingsley) and

Query: Seeking information about a William Gentry of Marshall, NC, and later of
Asheville, NC, who married Mary Margaret (Polly) Bailey (widow Brooks) . William and Mary
Margaret had six children: Jessie May, who died in early childhood, Emma, Wyatt,
Christopher, Henry, and Zebulun Beard Gentry, born in Marshall, NC, February 16, 1875,
