Name of Ancestor: ROBERT CAVIN
Query: CAVIN - I am seeking any information about the CAVIN family in Gaston
Co./Iredell Co./Rowan Co./Alexander Co., or Lincoln Co. area of NC. I have found
descendants in the Mount Holly, McAdenville, Stanley, Gastonia, NC area. I would love to
have correspondence re. CAVIN's in other areas of NC or elsewhere. My g-g-g-Grandfather is
ROBERT CAVIN, born around 1775 (?) in Co. Cavan, Ireland and immigrated to the US in the
late 1700's to early 1800's and settled near Hiddenite, NC early 1800's(?). He was married
to the former Miss SUSIE HAYNES. Children include: ZIZA GATES CAVIN, SALLIE CAVIN, WILLIAM
H. CAVIN and ROBERT WINSTON CAVIN. I think that my g-g-g-Grandfather ROBERT CAVIN may have
entered the US through PA (Bucks Co.?) before settling in NC, but I have no proof of this.
Being the stubborn Irishman that he could have been, he probably swam over from Ireland,
for I have yet to locate him or any other of my CAVIN's on any Ship's Passenger Lists on

Query: I am researching my grandfather Jonah Collins born abt. 1867 in Englehard, Hyde
County, North Carolina He married Mary Henrietta Gibbs also born in Englehard abt 1875.
Their children were Max,Roy, Willie James, Willie Warren, John Thomas, Bessie, Fannie and
Mildred. My faternal grandmother was Billie Ann Barber. And my maternal grandmother was

Query: My CURRAN ancestor was Esther Curran of Mecklenburg Co., NC, the Dau. of
____?____and Mary_____ Curran. The father may have been a Hugh Curran. Their known
children were: Joseph, William, and Esther. Esther married Dr. Joseph Kennedy, Jr. ca
1770, Dr. Kennedy died near Charlette, NC 1777 as a result of the Rev. War. The name

Name of Ancestor: Jacob Calrk
Query: Looking for information on Jacob Clark who was born in North Carolina in 1747 ?
Wilmington. He enlisted in the revolutionary war at Wilmington in 1777. He was a private
in the 1st regiment North Carolina Line in Capt. John Walkers company. He was captured in
the battle of Charleston SC in 1780 and was prisoned in St. Augustine Florida until the
end of the war. in 1783. He was released and was headed back to Wilmington North Carolina
and made it as far as Camden County Ga before becoming ill. I am searching for the parents
and siblings of Jacob Clark.

Query: I'm looking for any info on a Duncan Campbell born in 1780 and died in 1854. He
married Sarah Ferguson who was born in 1806 and died in 1876. They had 11 children and the
third daughter was Sarah Eliza Blue born June 7, 1830 and died May 20, 1909. Duncan and

Query: CLARY. Rachel Clary b 17 June 1767, NC (Rowan?) md Alexander Locke 26 Oct 1784.
Rev. Soldier. He was son of John Locke II 1728-1764 and Ealce (Alice) Cathey. Rachel died
10 oct 1823 Rowan Co NC.They had 13 children and I have data on most of them. I descend
from 6th child:Elizabeth Locke and William Penninger. William md 2nd Mary Lynch on 11 Jan
1836. They migrated to So. IL Union Co. where they died. William had a total of 18

Query: John L. Settlemoir (mire) b 10 Jan 1818, NC, Burke Co.? Wife Elizabeth Austin.
11 children. John died 1863, & Elizabeth died 1889, both in Union Co. IL. Buried in
Brown Cem. They were in Tn 1837, Ala by 1840 Cherokee, Co. census with father (?) John Sr.
and brother Jacob & family.They were back in Tn until 1850 McCracken Co. Ky census. To
Illinois by 1857. John Sr. must have died in Tn. and Jacob & family left Ky. to where?
Need parents/siblings. I believe John Sr. may have md Susana Ri ddlen(?) In Burke Co. NC
if this is our John. Have been blocked on Elizabeth Austin for years. Will x-change.

Name of Ancestor: Hickman Morgan CARROLL
Query: Hickman was born 17 Feb 1829 in NC. He supposedly had a twin brother whose name
is unknown. Hickman served in the Union army during the CW, his twin supposely served in
the southern army. Would like to know Hickman's parents and siblings. He was located in
Osage Co MO in the 1860 census but unable to locate him prior to that time.
