Name of Ancestor: Bernard, John
Query: John Bernard is listed in the North Carolina Act of 1784. He was one of the
settlers on the Cumberland River who died there prior to passage of the act, which granted
640 acres to his heirs or devisees without any price to be paid to the public. His heir,
and I think, his son, was Walter Bernard of Franklin County, Va. Walter's sons claimed the
land in Tennessee. Is anyone tracing this gentleman, John Bernard? Where was he from? Will
share information about Franklin County family.
