William Alexander (W.A.) Waggoner was b. Feb. 28, 1828 in Buncombe Co., NC and d. July 24, 1905 in Buncombe Co., NC. He md. Nancy A. R. Parker Nov. 16, 1852. Nancy was b. June 16, 1834 in Buncombe Co., NC and d. June 14, 1909 in Buncombe Co., NC. They are both buried in Wagner (Waggoner) Cemetery in Buncombe County (Reems Creek section.) W.A. was in the Civil War, in the 60th NC Infantry.
W.A. Waggoner was the son of William “Billy” Jacob Waggoner (~1803-May 1870) and Susan Ellen Fox (~1803-Feb. 26, 1853). They are both buried in Wagner Cemetery as well.
Nancy was the daughter of William Shipley Parker (~1790-after 1850) and Rachel Elizabeth Sames (b. bet. 1790-1800). We have been told through the family that Nancy had red hair.

June 5, 1862, Arie Jane Waggoner, b. abt. 1866, Ida Vandora Waggoner, b. May 20, 1868, Emma S. Waggoner, b. Oct. 1870, Robert D. Waggoner, b. abt. 1872, and Nola Glenn Waggoner, b. abt. 1874.
